Beef Curry


This is a curry I made up in the quest for a beef madras. It isn't as hot as a madras, but is a flavorful curry with a deep taste.



  1. heat oil of medium heat
  2. fry garlic and ginger until golden brown
  3. stir in dry spices, dried peppers and fry for 30 seconds
  4. stir in the ground beef and cook until browned on all sides
  5. add tomato paste and water to cover meat, simmer covered for 1 hour or more
  6. stir in coconut milk, fresh peppers and simmer gently until cooked down
  7. stir in lemon juice and cook for a minute and serve
